About
Welcome to my ceramics online shop. I hope you enjoy what you see!
I have been working with clay for close to eight years, and am currently in my fourth and final year of the Dunedin School of Art diploma in Ceramics. Originally I made functional-ware, cups and bowls and jugs, but through the diploma have expanded into non-functional and sometime sculptural. My shop still features wheel thrown cups and bowls. Some fired in my electric kiln, others in gas kilns and a beautiful salt/soda brick kiln located in Te Horo, built by the Mirek Smisek Arts Trust.
Originally from Wellington I am now spending most of my time creating pottery from my little studio in Te Horo, on the Kāpiti Coast.
I am a member of Wellington Potters’ Association and Ōtaki Pottery Club, and a Trustee of the Mirek Smisek Arts Trust operating 'The Kilns at Te Horo', a beautiful project that supports and promotes pottery and potters, and honours the legacy of NZ's first full-time studio potter Mirek Smisek ( 1924 - 2013). https://www.thekilnsattehoro.co.nz
Wheel thrown, each piece is unique and slight imperfections are all part of the creating.
